Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a comprehensive system that improves both the health and appearance of the skin from the inside out. In addition to addressing cosmetic concerns such as wrinkles and sagging, the treatment includes a full body, constitutional treatment to increase overall health, which contributes to the skin’s appearance.
Improvements to the following aspects of the skin may be addressed with Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture:
- Lines and wrinkles
- Facial symmetry
Simultaneously, the deeper imbalances that cause them to appear are addressed. The effects of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture are more subtle and gradual than traditional methods and there is no cutting, burning or injecting, thus removing the risks and downtime associated with more invasive procedures.
A variety of methods are used to achieve maximum results including; acupuncture, topical herbal applications and facial massage as well as dietary recommendations and internal herbal therapy. By addressing the needs of the skin and body both outside and in, a thorough and lasting effect can be achieved.
A course of treatment is typically 10-12 sessions, spaced no more than one week apart. Noticeable and lasting results appear on about the 6th- 7th session, although many report improvements as early as the first session. Each person responds differently and is treated according to his or her own unique presentation. After an initial course of treatment, monthly maintenance sessions can prolong the effects for years.
There are contraindications for some individuals with bleeding disorders and high blood pressure. This procedure should not be performed on individuals who are pregnant, during an acute infection such as “pink eye" or during an acute herpes outbreak. As with all acupuncture, there is a possibility of bruising, which resolves on its own.
